Delphi is famous for a couple of things. One is the Oracle of Delphi.  This was a woman in her fifties who was considered a prophetess.  She would be behind a rock with a hole in it and leaders from all over the world would come here and visit her.  They would ask questions and she would give them answers through the hole in the rock.  She became so famous that countries would build "treasuries" here in which they would put offerings and store money  and many valuable gifts for this oracle.  Some of the Treasuries are shown below.
