Elder Gifford!  Great missionary.  We worked closely with him at Faliro until it was closed.  Great family story here.  His mother was born and raised in Israel.  One day she noticed a book in the trash bin.  She took it out and read it all the way through. It was the Book of Mormon and she had a confirmation  of its truthfulness and joined the Church.  She then traveled to Salt Lake, went to the Church Office Building, and into the Brethren's secretary and said, "I want to go on a mission." They took her into the office right then and called her to serve in California.  Meanwhile, there was an Elder in South America that injured his knee and was sent home for treatment and re-assigned to the California mission.  The result is a great Greece Athens Mission, Missionary!   Jared, he will be going to BYU Idaho in January.
